Prospective Students

 

Enterprise:

The Anesthesia Program provides training within the scope of the Department of Medical Services and Techniques of the Vocational School of Health Services and continues to provide up-to-date training on the training of Anesthesia Technicians, which is an indispensable need of the health sector.

Degree Awarded:

Graduates who successfully complete the program are awarded an associate degree diploma in the field of Anesthesia and receive the title of Anesthesia Technician.

Admission and Registration Requirements:

Students are admitted to our school with the Higher Education Institutions Exam (YKS) Basic Proficiency Exam (TYT).

Rules on the Recognition of Prior Learning:

Students studying at our university may be exempt from some courses within the framework of the relevant regulations. If the course content is approved by the school administrative board and applied within the deadline, students may be exempted from the specified courses.

Qualification Requirements and Regulations:

Graduates of the Anesthesia Program are expected to be able to follow up patients before, during and after anesthesia and to apply the necessary interventions, to be prone to teamwork, to be sensitive to patient rights, to follow current practices and to work in accordance with quality standards.

To successfully complete all the courses available in the program and to have obtained a weighted GPA of at least 2.0 out of 4.

Program Profile:

The Anesthesia Program trains technical staff who will undertake the responsibilities of assisting the anesthesiologist in the safe application, maintenance and termination of anesthesia, preparing the environment, using, maintaining and keeping the equipment ready for the next application and delivering the patient safely to the recovery room, who can work in the operating room and follow the innovations in medicine and reflect them to their practices.

Employment Profiles of Graduates:

Graduates of the Anesthesia Program can work in the operating rooms and pain units of state, university and private hospitals.

Transition to Higher Degree Programs:

Graduated students can apply to the fields (undergraduate programs) announced by OSYM with the vertical transfer exam. The departments that the students of our program can complete with the vertical transfer exam are: Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, Nursing and Health Services.

Examination Regulations, Assessment and Grading:

For students who attend classes for one semester in an academic year, a midterm exam and a final exam are held in each semester. Students are required to attend 70% of the classes. Relative system is used in measurement and evaluation.

Graduation Requirements:

In order to graduate, Anesthesia Program students must complete a total of 130 credits and 130 ECTS in 4 semesters and have a GPA of at least 2.00.

Facilities:

The Anesthesia Program continues its education in the classrooms and application laboratories of the Vocational School of Health Services.

There are 1 Professor, 1 Assistant Professor, 1 Lecturer Doctor and 1 Health Technician in the Anesthesia Program.

I. International Student Paramedic Rally

The First International Student Paramedic Rally, which was organized on 7 – 9 March 2019 in cooperation with Acıbadem Mehmet Ali Aydınlar University Vocational School of Health Services First and Emergency Aid Program, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Emergency Medicine and Paramedic Association PARDER, was held with the participation of 21 universities. In the First International Student Paramedic Rally held on March 8, 2019, Marmara University Vocational School of Health Services First and Emergency Aid Program students Dilay Ceren Temelocak, Ebrar Sarıyalçın, Erkam Kılınç, Zeynel Şengül and Samet Yangel came third in the General classification, first in the Basic Life Support stage, and third in the Crime Scene Evaluation stage. We congratulate our students and wish them continued success.

Basic Life Support and Emergency Approaches Training

On May 3, 2019, "Basic Life Support and Emergency Approaches Training" was organized by our program for the 2nd year students of Medical Laboratory Techniques, Pathology Laboratory Techniques and Medical Imaging Techniques of our school, and practical trainings on "Adult Basic Life Support, Child Basic Life Support, Airway Management, Infant and Adult Airway Obstructions" were organized at the stations created.

 

Simulation Training in Basic and Advanced Life Support

Anesthesia Program Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nazan Atalan Özlen, Lecturer Asst. Fidan Kudur Çırpan ve Sag. Organized by Asu Gürer on 7 – 8 March 2019 in cooperation with the Istanbul Provincial Health Directorate Medical Simulation Center (SİMMERK) for the students of the Anesthesia Program;   "Simulation Training in Basic and Advanced Life Support" was held. After the pre-test was given to the students, Dr. Özlem Slayan and other educators made the applications in the company of other educators, and at the end of the activity that ended with the post-test, the students stated that their educational satisfaction was high. We congratulate our students for their interest and effort and wish them continued success.

CBRN Awareness and Basic Disaster Awareness Training

"CBRN Awareness and Basic Disaster Awareness Training" for First and Emergency Aid Students was held on 14 and 17 May 2019 between 10.00-15.00 by Ahmet Alpaslan DURU (Search and Rescue Technician) and Seval DEDEOĞLU (Engineer) at AFAD Istanbul, Yeşilköy Service Building (Search and Rescue Union Directorate).

 

Vocational School of Health Services School Valedictorian

At the end of the 2018-2019 academic year, Özge HODANCI, a student of the Anesthesia Program, became the top student of the Vocational School of Health Services. We congratulate our student and wish him many successes throughout his life.
